The Nasarawa State Police Command has launched a full-scale investigation into the suspected abduction of Yusuf Musa, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism.

The incident reportedly occurred in the early hours of Tuesday at the victim’s residence in Lafia, the state capital. Police said Musa’s disappearance was discovered during a routine patrol by officers from B Division.

According to a statement by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Ramhan Nansel, police found a Peugeot pick-up van parked with its doors open and the gate to the residence ajar. A search of the premises confirmed that the Permanent Secretary was missing, along with a GMC vehicle bearing registration number KUJ 88 PA.

In response, Commissioner of Police Shetima Jauro Mohammed ordered a coordinated tactical operation, activating police units across the state and deploying surveillance teams along key routes in Akwanga, Andaha, Garaku, and Kadarko to track the suspected kidnappers.

“The command is fully committed to ensuring the safe rescue of the victim and bringing the perpetrators to justice,” Nansel said.

He appealed to the public to assist with credible information by contacting the nearest police station or the command’s emergency lines, assuring swift action and confidentiality.
