In a bid to promote locally made products and increase government patronage, representatives of the Kwara Garment Factory have visited the Acting Head of Service and Permanent Secretary, Service Welfare, Dr. Olufunke Mercy Shittu.
The courtesy visit, held on Monday, was part of the factory’s engagement strategy ahead of the upcoming Kwara State Civil Service Week. Led by Chief Financial Officer, Mr. Abdulsalam Nurudeen, the team sought inclusion in official events to showcase the factory’s capabilities.
Marketing Lead, Mrs. Dara Aderoju, highlighted the factory’s capacity to fulfill large-scale orders while maintaining quality and affordability. She appealed for consideration in producing commemorative wear for the Civil Service Week, stressing the importance of supporting local industries to drive job creation and economic growth.
Responding, Dr. Shittu praised the initiative and reaffirmed her commitment to promoting indigenous products. Although planning for the Civil Service Week was already well underway, she promised to engage relevant stakeholders, including labour unions, to explore possible areas of collaboration.
She also encouraged the delegation to maintain communication with her office regarding future engagements with Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), to enhance coordination and improve the chances of broader government patronage.
