PDP Spokesman Accuses Wike of Embarrassing the Party

Date:

Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Abdullahi Ibrahim, has accused Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, of embarrassing the party with his continued interference in its internal affairs.

Speaking on Arise News on Wednesday, Ibrahim criticised Wike’s decision to present six conditions ahead of the PDP’s forthcoming national convention, describing the move as “outrageous,” particularly since the minister currently serves in an All Progressives Congress (APC) administration.

“You are giving PDP conditions, and the entire country is laughing at us all because of one individual who is on the APC’s payroll. Enough is enough. We have to draw the line; he cannot continue like this,” Ibrahim said.

He noted that while he once defended Wike’s opposition to the party’s zoning arrangement before the 2023 elections, the minister’s recent conduct had crossed the line. “I have spoken up for him more than anyone else in this party, justifying his stand against the zoning formula in 2023. But there comes a time when a responsible person must stop,” he added.

Ibrahim urged party leaders to safeguard the PDP’s image and unity by resisting what he described as blackmail and distraction.
