Cardi B Drops New Album Am I the Drama? After Seven Years

Date:

Grammy-winning rapper Cardi B on Friday released her long-awaited second studio album, Am I the Drama?, ending a seven-year gap since her 2018 debut Invasion of Privacy.

The 23-track project, released under Atlantic Records, debuted at No. 1 on the U.S. iTunes albums chart. It features collaborations with Kehlani, Megan Thee Stallion, Selena Gomez, and Janet Jackson.

Rolling Stone gave the album 4.5 stars, praising its “raw energy and fearless storytelling.” Cardi B also premiered the music video for the single Safe and appeared at an Apple Music event in New York to promote the release. A world tour is scheduled for 2026.

The release comes amid major personal developments. On September 17, the rapper confirmed she is expecting a child with New England Patriots wide receiver Stefon Diggs. “I’m excited. I’m happy,” she told CBS in an interview.

Earlier this month, Cardi B secured a legal victory when a Los Angeles jury cleared her of assault charges in a $24 million civil lawsuit filed by security guard Emani Ellis. The case, which alleged an altercation outside an obstetrician’s office in 2018, was decided in her favor after a week-long trial.

With the album’s chart-topping debut, the announcement of her pregnancy, and the resolution of a long-standing lawsuit, Cardi B enters a new phase in her career marked by both professional milestones and personal growth.
