Lagos CP Promotes 35 Officers to Boost Security

Date:

The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Jimoh, has decorated 35 senior officers in a move aimed at enhancing the state’s security architecture.

The ceremony at the Lagos State Police Command headquarters saw 30 Superintendents of Police (SPs) promoted to Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP), while five Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) advanced to SP.

In a statement on Wednesday, the state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Adebisi, said CP Jimoh described the promotions as a reflection of the Inspector-General of Police’s commitment to professionalism, motivation, and recognition of excellence within the Nigeria Police Force.

“The exercise underscores that hard work, dedication, and discipline are recognised and rewarded. It should serve as further motivation for improved performance,” Jimoh said.

The commissioner thanked the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, for his trust in the promoted officers and noted that the exercise would boost morale, operational efficiency, and service delivery across the command.

CP Jimoh emphasised that the new ranks carry heightened expectations from both the Force and the public. “Demonstrate greater diligence, discipline, and professionalism in the discharge of your duties. A higher rank comes with increased responsibility and accountability,” he said.

He also congratulated the officers’ families and expressed confidence that the promotions would translate into a safer environment for Lagos residents. “I am confident you will continue to contribute meaningfully to the safety, security, and protection of lives and property in Lagos State,” Jimoh affirmed.
