Popular media personality and content creator Kolu has appealed to fellow entertainer Carter Efe for a N7 million loan to help secure the release of singer Portable from prison.
Kolu made the appeal during a live session with Carter Efe on Twitch on Thursday, explaining that he felt a personal obligation to assist the controversial singer.
According to Kolu, Portable played a key role in his rise to fame, revealing that the artiste brought him to Lagos and helped him gain public recognition. “Portable brought me to Lagos, I come blow. Na him help my life,” he said in Pidgin.
Portable was remanded in prison on Tuesday by the Federal High Court in Ota, Ogun State, over allegations of car theft and assault reportedly involving his baby mama, Ashabi Simple.
The singer was also said to have been handcuffed and beaten while in police custody, though authorities have yet to issue an official statement on the claims.
