Rapper Kendrick Lamar has emerged as the most-nominated artist ahead of the 68th Annual Grammy Awards, scheduled for Sunday in Los Angeles.
Lamar secured nine nominations across major categories, including Album of the Year, Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best Rap Album, further cementing his position as one of the most influential figures in contemporary music.
Lady Gaga follows closely with seven nominations, while Bad Bunny, Sabrina Carpenter, and R&B singer-songwriter Leon Thomas each earned six nods. The nominations reflect a competitive year across pop, rap, and global music categories.
In the Album of the Year category, Lamar’s GNX will compete against projects from Bad Bunny, Lady Gaga, Sabrina Carpenter, Tyler, The Creator, Justin Bieber, Clipse, and Leon Thomas.
Record of the Year contenders include Lamar’s “luther” featuring SZA, alongside tracks by Billie Eilish, Lady Gaga, Bad Bunny, Sabrina Carpenter, Chappell Roan, Doechii, and Rose with Bruno Mars.
The Song of the Year category also features Lamar’s “luther,” competing against works by Lady Gaga, Billie Eilish, Doechii, Bad Bunny, and Sabrina Carpenter.
In rap categories, Lamar is nominated for Best Rap Album (GNX) and Best Rap Performance, where he faces competition from Cardi B, Doechii, Clipse, JID, GloRilla, and Tyler, The Creator.
Pop categories were dominated by artists including Lady Gaga, Sabrina Carpenter, Justin Bieber, Chappell Roan, and Lola Young, while Best Pop Duo/Group Performance features collaborations by Kendrick Lamar and SZA, Rose and Bruno Mars, and Ariana Grande with Cynthia Erivo.
The global music category highlights strong African representation, with Burna Boy nominated for No Sign of Weakness, alongside Youssou N’Dour, Anoushka Shankar, and Caetano Veloso with Maria Bethânia.
Winners will be announced at the Grammy Awards ceremony on Sunday, marking another milestone night for the global music industry.
