The wife of the Anambra State Governor, Nonye Soludo, has urged newly inaugurated executives of the Women Wing of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in Anambra State to use their positions to promote peace, uphold moral values, and encourage healthy living across society.

Speaking in Onitsha through the Deputy Governor’s wife, Oluchi Ibezim, Soludo emphasized that motherhood should be seen as both a privilege and a responsibility to build stronger families and foster better communities.

She highlighted her non-governmental initiative, Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo, noting that it promotes inclusion, partnership, and proper hygiene practices for all individuals, regardless of religion or social status.

The First Lady also charged the new leadership of the women’s wing, known as WOWICAN, to focus on advocating for women’s rights, supporting family structures, tackling gender-based violence, and promoting unity among different faiths.

WOWICAN, established in 1990, serves as the women’s arm of CAN, bringing together Christian women across denominations to advance humanitarian efforts, empower women economically, promote education, and strengthen social cohesion nationwide.
