Senate President mourns Gulak

Senate President Ahmad Lawan, has expressed shock over the murder of former Speaker of Adamawa House of Assembly and chieftain of All Progressives Congress (APC), Ahmed Gulak, in Owerri,Imo .

Lawan said this in a statement by his Special Adviser on Media, Mr Ola Awoniyi on Monday in Abuja, describing the murder as one crime too many.

He called for a swift investigation aimed at bringing all who involved in the crime to justice.

According to him, there can be no justification for the brutal murder of a human being and fellow citizen.

Lawan, however, appealed for restraint on the part of those calling for revenge, saying they should allow relevant authorities to serve justice on the matter .

The Senate President condoled with the family and friends of the departed as well as the government and people of Adamawa on the incident.
