Ahead of the 2023 general elections, The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) has announced the creation of the Directorate for Politics and Governance to coordinate the activity of its members in politics.
The church, in a memo issued Thursday,, said the newly-created Directorate is to coordinate the affairs and activities of members interested in seeking political offices in 2023.
The RCCG also announced the appointment of Pastor Timothy Olaniyan, a Pastor in Charge of Province (PICP) Lagos Province 12 as head of the Directorate.
It directed pastors at regional, state, zonal, and all other levels to appoint officials to coordinate the new directorate at such levels.
It would be recalled that the Vice President, Yomi Osinbajo, a senior Pastor with RCCG is been wooed by his supporters, under the aegis of The Progressive Project (TPP) to declare for the 2023 presidential race, under the ruling All Progressives Congress
TPP it was gathered, has set up offices in Abuja and the various zones, even as it has continued to mobilize and lobby support for the Vice president, ahead of his expected declaration to join in the race for the presidency
