The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has expressed concern over reports from parts of the Federal Capital Territory where voters allegedly could not find their names on the voter register during the ongoing Area Council elections.
In a statement posted on its official X handle, the party said several voters claimed their names were missing across multiple polling units, despite being duly registered and having participated in the previous election.
A viral video circulating online reportedly showed affected voters alleging that individuals who voted for the Labour Party in the last election were removed from the register in about 12 polling units within the area.
Reacting to the development, the ADC stated that if verified, the allegations raise serious concerns about the integrity of the electoral process.
The party called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to urgently investigate the complaints, clarify the situation, and ensure that no eligible voter is disenfranchised.
“Democracy must be protected. Every valid vote must count,” the party emphasized.
