The Ogun State Security Network, known as Amotekun Corps, has arrested five suspects for allegedly robbing and assaulting two tricycle riders along the Lagos–Abeokuta Expressway.

The suspects, identified as Clement Samuel, 30; Clement Monday, 23; Olabode Yusuf, 36; Sodipo Taiwo, 34; and Ogunsakin Yemisi Opeyemi, 22, were apprehended around 2:30 a.m. on Monday in Ifo and Ewekoro Local Government Areas. They are reportedly known locally as “customs camp boys.”

Confirming the incident, Corps Commander Brig. Gen. Alade Adedigba (rtd) said the arrests followed intelligence on a robbery at Apomu, where the victims — Dada Oluwaseun, 29, and Oluwajuwonlo Moshood, 24 — were attacked. The suspects allegedly fired a locally made pistol, smashed the victims’ tricycle windshields, inflicted injuries, and stole cash and mobile phones.

Recovered items include two Samsung and iPhones, N40,000 cash, a locally made pistol, charms, and a jackknife. The case has been handed over to the police for further investigation and prosecution.

Adedigba praised the operatives for their swift action, describing the arrests as a “significant victory” in curbing crime in Ogun State, and pledged continued efforts to ensure public safety.
