Boss Mustapha, the former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), has dismissed rumors suggesting his defection from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to the opposition coalition, African Democratic Congress (ADC).
In a statement issued on Sunday, Mustapha strongly refuted the claims, labeling them as “fake news.” He emphasized that he has had no discussions with members of the opposition or their coalition partners regarding a shift in political allegiance.
“My attention has been drawn to a misleading report linking me to the opposition alliance and their adoption of the ADC as their political party,” Mustapha stated. “I wish to make it clear that this is completely false. I am not part of any opposition alliance, nor am I in talks with any individuals involved.”
Mustapha, who was a principal founding member of the APC, reaffirmed his commitment to the party, emphasizing that despite the challenges the APC faces, he remains loyal to it and believes in addressing the issues from within rather than defecting to another party.
The former SGF, who held office from 2017 to 2023, urged the public to disregard any speculation about his political future, reaffirming that he remains a staunch member of the APC.
