Aspirant Demands Swift Action from Security Agencies Over Kidnapped UNIJOS Student

Date:

Faduri Oluwadamilare Joseph, a presidential aspirant on the platform of the National Rescue Movement (NRM), has called on security agencies to urgently secure the release of John Arum Azi, a student of the University of Jos, who was reportedly abducted by unidentified persons.

In a statement titled “A Nation in Pain: A Call to Defend the Sanctity of Human Life,” Faduri, also known as Fadojoe, expressed deep concern over a circulating video suggesting the student remains in captivity. He described the situation as distressing and unacceptable.

The aspirant characterised the incident as a “moral emergency,” warning that the rising cases of abductions across the country pose serious threats to public safety and national stability.

He urged security agencies to deploy all available resources, including intelligence and technology, to track down the perpetrators and ensure the safe return of the abducted student, as well as others reportedly in captivity nationwide.

Faduri also highlighted the broader impact of insecurity on Nigerians, noting widespread fear in communities and public spaces. He outlined plans to reform the nation’s security architecture if elected, including adopting intelligence-driven strategies, deploying surveillance systems, and strengthening community-based intelligence networks.
