APC Confident of 2027 Win as Opposition Fails to Unite — Yusuf

Date:

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, Abubakar Yusuf, has said the party’s victory in the 2027 presidential election appears inevitable, attributing it to the lack of unity among opposition parties. He argued that the ruling party stands a strong chance due to the absence of a formidable and coordinated challenge.

Speaking on Sunday Politics on Channels Television, Yusuf noted that while individual opposition figures may possess credibility, their inability to come together as a united front significantly weakens their chances of success at the polls.

He stressed that the projected victory of the APC may not necessarily be based on the performance of President Bola Tinubu’s administration, but rather on the fragmentation and disorganisation within opposition ranks.

According to Yusuf, the opposition lacks the cohesion required to mount a serious challenge, despite having strong personalities within its fold. He maintained that this division undermines their collective strength and electoral prospects.

“APC will win the presidential election in 2027, not because the government has performed well but because there is no opposition,” Yusuf said, adding that although opposition leaders are credible individually, they have failed to work together as a team.
