The organising committee of the Kwara Kiddies YEG League has announced that the grand finale of the 2025 season will take place on Sunday, December 14, at the Kwara Football Academy pitch in Ilorin.
Nottingham Forest striker Taiwo Awoniyi, who also serves as chairman of the league, is expected to welcome top sports stakeholders across the state as the curtain falls on another competitive year of grassroots youth football.
Awoniyi signed a four-year partnership with the organisers in June 2024, becoming the league’s major sponsor from its third season.
Launched in 2022 by the Youth Elite Group in Ilorin, the Kwara Kiddies League began as a U-12 competition for academies across the state and has since continued to grow in structure and reach.
Season IV has provided young talents with a platform to hone their skills, develop discipline, and embrace teamwork through well-coordinated, competitive fixtures.
Among the notable guests expected at the grand finale are the Chairman of the Kwara State Football Association, Idris Musa, and the Executive Chairman of the Kwara State Sports Commission, Mallam Bolakale Mogaji.
Through Awoniyi’s sponsorship, the league recently secured a listing on Wyscout, the world’s leading scouting and video-analysis platform—giving young players unprecedented visibility. He has also supported the programme with kits, food supplies, medical services, and other essential resources.
Awoniyi has consistently described the league as one of the most effective pathways for grooming young footballers in Kwara State.
Chairman of the Organising Committee, Olaide Ahli, said the competition continues to solidify its reputation as the state’s most organised grassroots football programme.
“The Kwara Kiddies League has become a powerful platform for nurturing the next generation of football stars. This grand finale is not just the close of a season but a celebration of the dreams and resilience of our young athletes,” he said.
“We appreciate all academies, coaches, parents, sponsors, and supporters who contributed to the success of this season.”
