The stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Benue South Senatorial District (Zone C) have restated their commitment to the party, declaring the zone remains a PDP stronghold ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The declaration followed a caucus meeting of key party figures held in Makurdi on Sunday, June 29th, 2025, where leaders issued a communique pledging unity and strategic planning for electoral victory.
“Zone C is PDP, and PDP is Zone C. Our people are not leaving the party,” the stakeholders affirmed, warning that any member engaging with coalition movements or rival platforms would face disciplinary action.
The caucus expressed full support for Senate Minority Leader Abba Moro’s re-election bid, describing him as “a tested and trusted leader,” and also backed Ojotu Ojema for another term in the House of Representatives.
One party elder said the decision was based on the lawmakers’ contributions to development and representation in the district, adding, “They have never turned their backs on us.”
The meeting concluded with reassurances to party members and supporters, with leaders promising sustained delivery of democratic dividends.
“The PDP is committed to good governance, quality representation, and meaningful development for Zone C and beyond,” a statement read.
