Big Brother Naija Season 10 to Launch with ₦150m Grand Prize

Date:

The organisers of Big Brother Naija have announced that the 10th season of the popular reality television show will premiere this July, featuring a record-breaking grand prize of ₦150 million.

The announcement was made during a press briefing on Wednesday, where it was confirmed that longtime host Ebuka Obi-Uchendu will return to anchor the upcoming season.

This year’s cash prize marks the highest in the show’s history since its debut in 2006, surpassing last season’s ₦100 million reward. In total, Big Brother Naija has awarded ₦637 million in prizes over nine seasons.

Obi-Uchendu highlighted the show’s impact during his remarks, noting that it has featured 197 housemates, aired for 709 days, and consistently generated significant viewer engagement across the continent.

The show’s ninth season, themed “No Loose Guard,” introduced a format twist in which contestants auditioned in pairs and initially entered the house as duos. They later competed as individuals after being unpaired.

Kellyrae, the eventual winner of Season 9, made history as the first married contestant to win the competition, walking away with the ₦100 million grand prize.

The upcoming 10th season will kick off with a two-day launch event, although specific dates and further details about the new format have not yet been disclosed.

Big Brother Naija continues to be one of Africa’s most watched reality shows, known for its dramatic twists, fan engagement, and significant cultural influence.

The show is produced by MultiChoice Nigeria and airs on DStv and GOtv platforms.
