
The bill proposing an amendment to the Federal College of Education Act for the establishment of the College of Education, Oke-Oyi, underwent its public hearing on Monday, February 24, 2025.
Sponsored by Hon. Ahmed Yinka Aluko, PhD, representing Ilorin East/South Federal Constituency, the bill had successfully passed all readings and the committee stage before reaching this crucial engagement.

The public hearing witnessed strong stakeholder support, including the Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union (IEDPU), the umbrella body representing all Ilorin Emirate indigenes worldwide. The Abuja Branch of the union, led by its chairman, was present to advocate for the bill.
