Bishop Oyedepo Says Politics Not His Calling

Date:

The Presiding Bishop of the Living Faith Church Worldwide, also known as Winners Chapel, Bishop David Oyedepo, has ruled out any involvement in partisan politics, saying no amount of money could persuade him to abandon his spiritual calling.

Oyedepo made the statement while speaking at an impartation service during the church’s annual convocation, Shiloh 2025, currently holding at the Faith Tabernacle, Canaanland, Ota, Ogun State.

Emphasising the importance of staying true to one’s purpose, the cleric urged church members to remain focused on their divine assignments, noting that influence and impact are most effective when people operate within their God-given calling.

“Partisan politics is off my calling,” Oyedepo said. “If you give me $1 billion to join politics, I won’t, because it’s off my course.”

He also reflected on Nigeria’s challenges, saying he had warned in 2015 that difficult times lay ahead, adding that current events had validated those concerns.

The bishop described the present moment as critical, arguing that the world is in need of spiritual solutions. Citing the biblical passage Romans 8:19, he said society is waiting for the manifestation of individuals who can provide answers to national and global crises.

According to him, such interventions would come through people who, like biblical figures Joseph and Daniel, operate with divine wisdom and integrity in times of adversity.

Oyedepo’s remarks formed part of a broader message encouraging believers to avoid distractions from worldly ambitions and instead commit themselves to their faith and responsibilities.

Shiloh 2025 began on December 9 and is expected to end on December 14, drawing thousands of worshippers for spiritual teaching, prayer, and fellowship.
