Breaking….Customs Gets New Acting Area Controller In Kwara, Najeem Ogundeyi

A new acting Customs Area Controller has been deployed to Kwara State. He is DC Najeem Akanmu Ogundeyi.

Ogundeyi formally took over from Controller Faith Mathew Ojeifo, at a special hanging-over session held on Tuesday at the Command’s Headquarters in Ilorin.

In his handover speech, Comptroller Ojeifo expressed sincere appreciation to all officers and men of the Command, sister security agencies, and stakeholders for their immense cooperation during his tenure.

He said: “Together, we recorded commendable achievements in revenue generation, enforcement, and service delivery.”

Ojeifo further added that he has absolute confidence in the leadership capacity, experience, and professionalism of the Acting Controller, DC Najeem Akanmu Ogundeyi.

He also urged all officers and men to accord him maximum support, loyalty, and cooperation to enable his success.

“I remain grateful to the Comptroller General of Customs for the opportunity to serve, and I wish Kwara Command continued peace, progress, and operational excellence,” he concluded.

Meanwhile, the acting Area Controller, DC Najeem Akanmu Ogundeyi, expressed appreciation to the Comptroller General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi MFR, FNIPR, PhD, and his management team for giving him this rare opportunity to serve the nation in this capacity.

He also extended sincere appreciation and commendation to Comptroller Faith Mathew Ojeifo (rtd) for his outstanding dedication, professionalism, and exemplary leadership throughout his tenure. His unwavering commitment to duty, discipline, and service has laid a strong foundation upon which this Command will continue to build.

“As I assume this office, I am fully aware of the responsibilities and challenges it entails. I do not take this assignment lightly, and I am committed to upholding the standards, values, and excellence of the Service. With the cooperation and support of officers and men, we will continue to achieve our shared objectives.”

The Acting CAC however emphasized that he strongly believes in teamwork, professionalism, transparency, and discipline as the pillars of effective leadership.

He reiterated that his leadership approach will be anchored on mutual respect, strict adherence to rules and regulations, and an unwavering commitment to effective service delivery. Every officer and personnel will be motivated to give their utmost best, recognizing that our collective effort is central to our success.

The successor called on all officers to extend to him the same level of cooperation, support, and dedication accorded to his predecessor.

“Together, we shall work diligently to sustain existing achievements, address emerging challenges, and advance the progress of this Command.”
