Court sets bail terms for Ex-Arsenal star Thomas Partey

Date:

Former Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey has had his bail conditions formally outlined following his appearance at Westminster Magistrates’ Court in London on Tuesday.

The 32-year-old Ghanaian international, who is facing five counts of rape and one count of sexual assault involving three separate women, is prohibited from contacting any of the alleged victims. Additionally, he must notify police of any permanent change of address or international travel as part of his bail terms.

The presiding judge, Chief Magistrate Paul Goldspring, acknowledged Partey’s apparent move to Spain, stating, “I understand he’s no longer employed in this country and playing in Spain now.” This remark seemingly confirms Partey’s reported transfer to Villarreal CF, following the expiration of his contract with Arsenal in late June.

Partey was officially charged last week, just four days after leaving the Premier League club. His next court appearance is scheduled for September 2 at the Old Bailey, where the case is expected to be transferred for further proceedings.
