Cynosure Hospital Responds to Controversy Over Elena Jessica

Date:

Cynosure Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Hospital has denied any link to the death of Nigerian socialite Jessica Elena following a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) procedure. The statement comes amid viral social media claims suggesting that the young woman developed serious complications after undergoing a second BBL surgery at the Lagos-based facility.

The controversy escalated after a disturbing video circulated online showing a woman believed to be Jessica Elena in severe pain while receiving wound care. The clip sparked widespread outrage and emotional reactions across social media, with many wrongly attributing the footage to Cynosure Hospital.

In an official statement posted on its Instagram page on March 10, 2026, the hospital said the video was not recorded at its facility and that it had no confirmation that the incident occurred on its premises. The statement emphasized that the location in the video was unrecognizable to the hospital.

Cynosure management appealed to the public to avoid spreading unverified content, noting that such misinformation could exacerbate the grief of the deceased’s family. The hospital extended condolences to Jessica Elena’s family while urging social media users to handle the matter with sensitivity and compassion.

The case has reignited discussions about the safety of cosmetic procedures, particularly BBL surgeries, and highlighted the growing demand for body enhancement treatments in Nigeria. Experts continue to caution patients about the risks associated with unregulated or multiple surgical procedures.
