Several people have been confirmed dead following a tanker explosion on Monday morning in Dan Magaji, Zaria, Kaduna State. The incident occurred around 8:30 a.m. near Rochas Foundation School along the Kaduna–Kano expressway bypass.
According to eyewitness accounts shared with security analyst Zagazola Makama, the accident involved two fuel-laden tankers and two passenger-filled Volkswagen Golf cars. The collision reportedly triggered five loud explosions, leading to a massive fire and thick black smoke over the highway.
Witnesses said all the occupants of the two cars died instantly, except one driver who survived with severe burns. Emergency services and security agencies have since cordoned off the area and are urging motorists to use alternative routes as rescue and recovery operations continue.
