Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has called on Christians to reflect on the core values of love, sacrifice, and hope as they celebrate Easter.
In a goodwill message issued on Friday through his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, the governor congratulated Christians in Osun State and across Nigeria on the Easter celebration, describing it as a period that symbolizes the triumph of life over death and light over darkness.
According to the statement, Governor Adeleke noted that the season underscores the importance of selflessness and faith in a brighter future. He added that the sacrifice of Jesus Christ should inspire a renewed commitment to peaceful coexistence and service to humanity.
The governor reassured the Christian community of his administration’s dedication to fairness, inclusiveness, and the protection of religious freedom. He emphasized that his government remains committed to building a society where people of all faiths can live and thrive without fear or discrimination.
Adeleke further urged Christians to embrace virtues such as humility, forgiveness, and love, describing them as essential for unity and collective progress in society.
He also reaffirmed his administration’s focus on people-oriented governance and pledged continued efforts to improve key sectors that impact the lives of residents.
While cautioning against the exploitation of religious sentiments for political gain, the governor warned that such actions could threaten unity and social harmony.
He concluded by encouraging Christians to use the Easter season as a time for prayer for Osun State and Nigeria, and to extend kindness and support to the less privileged.
“As we commemorate this sacred season, I urge all citizens to embrace its message of hope and renewal. Our administration remains committed to delivering good governance and ensuring that the dividends of democracy reach every corner of Osun State,” he said
