The Emir of Ilorin and Chairman Kwara State Traditional Rulers Council, Mai-Martaba Alhaji (Dr) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari CFR, has rejoiced with Professor Haruna Musa Dambatta on his emergence as the 12th Vice Chancellor of Bayero University Kano.
Alhaji Sulu-Gambari who is also the Chancellor of the University described the process that produced the new VC as transparent, peaceful and all-inclusive stressing that, “with the appointment of Prof. Dambatta as the new VC, it is indeed a new dawn in BUK.”
The Emir stated this in a congratulatory message issued at the weekend by his Press Secretary, Dr. Abdulazeez Arowona.
He applauded the academic credentials of the new VC, a Professor of Polymer and Colour Chemistry with Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry from Bayero University (1991), a Master’s Degree in Polymer Chemistry (1999), and a PhD in Polymer Chemistry from the University of Bristol, United Kingdom (2009).
He also appealed to the entire University community to rally round Prof. Dambatta in order to sustain the peaceful coexistence in the University as well as promote the core mandates of the University which is focused on providing high-quality education, conducting impactful research, and contributing to community development.
Alhaji Sulu-Gambari however commended the out going VC, Prof. Sagir Adamu Abbas for his excellent performances as the 11th Vice Chancellor since 2020.
