Emir Sanusi II vacates main palace, moves to Emir’s private residence (PHOTOS)

According to Daily Trust report, HRH Alhaji Muhammadu Sanusi II, who was reappointed as Emir of Kano on Thursday, has moved to his private residence at Gidan Rumfa.

There has been tension in the state following the dethronement of five emirs and reappointment of Sanusi as new Kano Emir.

In what appeared to be a strange development, Sanusi and deposed Emir, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, are operating from different palaces, with supporters and courtiers rallying round them.

Aminu Bayero, who returned to Kano Saturday morning, had earlier briefed newsmen where he called for calm, while awaiting outcome of the legal process on the emirship tussle.

Meanwhile the Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has met with top security Chiefs in Kano over the royal battle.
