
The Emir of Ilorin and Chairman Kwara State Traditional Rulers Council in, Mai-Martaba Alhaji (Dr) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari CFR, has expressed his deep appreciation over the appointment of the Malami Ubandoma of Ilorin, Dr. AbdulKadir Salman, as one of the Chief of Imams of National Mosque, Abuja.
Alhaji Sulu-Gambari, in a statement issued by his spokesman, Mallam Abdulazeez Arowona, described the appointment as highly impressive and honourable to the entire people of Ilorin Emirate and Kwarans in general.
The Emir who expressed confidence in the ability of the erudite scholar to impact knowledge nationwide through sermons and other religious engagements said: “This appointment is a new dawn to us in Ilorin Emirate and Kwara State at large.”.
Alhaji Sulu-Gambari however specially thanked the leadership of the Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NCSIA), under the leadership of His Eminence Sultan Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar CFR, the Etsu Nupe and Chairman National Mosque Management Committee, His Royal Highness, Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar CFR, the Emir of Gummi and Chairman Coordinating Committee of Northern Traditional Rulers Council, His Royal Highness, Justice Hassan Lawal Gumi OFR for the honour.
The Emir however urged the new appointee to utilise his new position to promote unity, peace and development as well as Inter-Religious harmony across Nigeria and beyond.
