Ethiopia postpones general elections over coronavirus fears

The government of Ethiopia has confirmed the postponement of its general elections scheduled to hold by the end of August because of the coronavirus outbreak, the country’s electoral body said on Tuesday.

The East African nation has 26 confirmed cases of the virus. Voter registration was supposed to start on April 22 and campaigns a little more than a month later.
