The Katsina State High Court 9 has sentenced two men to death for the murder of Rabe Nasir, a former Commissioner for Science and Technology.
Nasir was killed on December 8, 2021, in his residence at Fatima Shema Housing Estate, Katsina, by individuals identified as his domestic staff. The court found Shamsu Lawal, a former security guard, and Tasi’u Rabi’u, a cook, guilty of poisoning the late commissioner after their attempt to rob him failed.
Police investigations and medical reports confirmed that Nasir died from poisoning, leading to the conviction.
Both the prosecution and defence lawyers expressed satisfaction with the conduct and outcome of the trial.
