Ex-Kwara CPS, Deji Oni is dead, NALVEJ mourns

The National League of Veteran Journalists (NALVEJ) in Kwara State has mourned the demise of a former press secretary to Kwara State Government, Prince Deji Oni.

Oni who reportedly died on Wednesday served as a chief press secretary to the late Governor Mohammed Lawal.

The league in a statement signed by its chairman, Alh Tunde Akanbi and publicity secretary, Alh Abdullahi Olesin, described Oni’s death as painful.

Describing Oni as an astute journalist during his days in the state civil service, the league added that the deceased was easy going and peaceful person during his lifetime.

NALVEJ commisserated with the the Alofa of Ilofa, the immediate and extended families of Oni and the entire journalists in the state, both serving and retired over Oni’s death.

It prayed God to comfort the family left behind by Oni and grant his friends and associates the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
