Ex-UNILAG Chief Imam, Professor Murtala Bidmos is dead

The former Chief Imam of the University of Lagos (UNILAG), Professor Murtala Bidmos,is dead.

The announcement of the cleric was made on Monday by his son, Faisal Bidmos.

Prof. Bidmos died in the afternoon and will be laid to rest in his hometown, Ayete, Ibarapa North Local Government Area of Oyo State in accordance with Islamic rites.

The late scholar was a respected religious leader and academic, known for his contributions to Islamic studies and spiritual guidance at UNILAG.

Prof. Bidmos was widely respected for his unwavering commitment to Islam and his tireless efforts in advancing charitable causes.

His contributions to the IBILE Muslim Community Zakat and Sadaqat Foundation left a lasting impact, and his wisdom was a guiding light within the Muslim community.
