FCT Police Arrest 12 Suspects Over Killing of Arise TV Staff in Abuja Robbery

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has arrested 12 suspected armed robbers allegedly involved in the killing of an Arise News staff member, Somtochukwu Christella Maduagwu, and a security guard, Barnabas Danlami, during a violent robbery attack in Abuja.

According to newsmen on Thursday, the arrests followed a coordinated operation led by the Scorpion Squad under the FCT Command, acting on intelligence provided by a forensics firm, Giga Forensics, a subsidiary of EIB STRATOC.

The Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, reportedly ordered an intensive manhunt after the September 29, 2025, attack at Unique Apartment, Gishiri Village, Katampe District, which occurred around 3:30 a.m.

Operatives led by ACP Victor Godfrey apprehended the suspects using actionable digital and reconstructive intelligence gathered by the forensic team.

Those arrested include:
Shamsudeen Hassan, Hassan Isah, Abubakar Alkamu (a.k.a. Abba), Sani Sirajo (a.k.a. Dan Borume), Mashkur Jamilu (a.k.a. Abba), Suleiman Badamasi (a.k.a. Dan-Sule), Abdul Salam Saleh (a.k.a. Na-Durudu), Zaharadeen Muhammad (a.k.a. Gwaska), Musa Adamu (a.k.a. Musa Hassan), Sumayya Mohammed (a.k.a. Baby), Isah Abdulrahman (a.k.a. Abbati), and Musa Umar (a.k.a. Small).

The suspects, drawn from Katsina, Kaduna, and Borno States, are currently in police custody as investigations continue.

The FCT Police Command is expected to brief the public further as more details emerge on the case.
