AUTHORITY of the Federal University of Agriculture, Zuru (FUAZ), Kebbi State,
has a Deputy Bursar at the University of Ilorin, Mr. AbdulRasheed Atanda Ahmed, as the new Bursar of the institution.
ROYAL NEWS reports that Mr. Ahmed’s appointment was approved by the Governing Council of the University as contained in a statement signed by the Registrar of the University, Mr. Abdulaziz Yusuf Busata.
The appointment, which is for five years, takes effect from March 16, 2025.
Meanwhile, the Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Prof. Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, SAN, welcomed the appointment, describing it as ‘‘well-deserved’’.
In a statement signed by the Director of Corporate Affairs, Mr Kunle Akogun, the Vice Chancellor said that the Management, staff and students of the nation’s most sought-after University are happy with the appointment of Mr Ahmed.
Egbewole described the new Bursar, who is also a lawyer, as a hardworking financial technocrat and one of those whose efforts culminated in the exciting progress achieved by the University.
He described the appointment of Mr Ahmed as another opportunity for a staff of the University of Ilorin to contribute to the efforts of nurturing FUAZ to greatness as the pioneer Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Musa Isiyaku Ahmed, is also a former staff of the Better By Far University, where he served as its Director of COMSIT.
The Vice Chancellor wished Mr Ahmed a very peaceful and successful tenure.
