Fintiri Explains Political Rift With Atiku, Cites Party Differences

Date:

Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Fintiri has clarified that his political separation from former Vice President Atiku Abubakar is strictly due to differences in party alignment and not personal conflict.

Fintiri made the clarification during an appearance on Channels Television, stressing that despite belonging to different political platforms, he maintains a cordial relationship with Atiku.

He explained that political differences do not amount to a breakdown in personal communication, adding that individuals committed to Nigeria’s progress should recognise one another as partners in nation-building.

The governor also stated that his current political position aligns with supporting a southern candidacy, while dismissing suggestions that their political divergence has strained their relationship.

“There is no strained communication with the former VP as a result of political differences. It is just that everybody has taken their political ways. I am today in APC, they are in another party,” he said.

Fintiri reiterated that although they now operate on separate political platforms, mutual respect remains intact between them.
