Gunmen have abducted a Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) officer and a local resident in Otukpo Local Government Area of Benue State.
The attack reportedly occurred around 9:00 p.m. on November 9 along Asa 1, Otobi Akpa Road, according to security analyst Zagazola Makama.
About five armed men were said to have invaded the area, forcefully breaking into a residence before kidnapping the FRSC officer, identified as Oketa Ejembi, and an unidentified neighbour.
The victim’s son, Daniel Oketa, reported the incident to the police at about 9:43 p.m.
In response, the Divisional Police Officer deployed a patrol team and tactical units to the scene.
Benue State police authorities confirmed that efforts are underway to track down the attackers and rescue the victims.
The Criminal Investigation Department has also opened an investigation into the abduction.
