I thank Almighty Allah for His mercies and unwavering favours on His creatures and our dear nation despite numerous global challenges confronting humanity.
Today’s gathering is another milestone towards securing the future for our country as well as scouting for sustainable measures for promoting peaceful coexistence among the diverse ethnic, religious and social groups through provision of platform for mentoring of younger generations.
I am not only glad to be part of this all-important gathering of launching of Abubakar Kawu Baraje Foundation but I am also fulfilled that this innovation was conceived and brought to fruition by an illustrious son of Ilorin Emirate, a national Icon and philanthropist par excellence in person of Alhaji Abubakar Kawu Baraje CON.
He has over the years demonstrated sincere passion for national cohesion as an accomplished civil servant, politician, community leader and fulfilled family man. It is a statement of fact that no nation can develop without adequate plan to set aside robust templates for youths’ mobilization, mentorship and succession plans for the future.
Abubakar Kawu Baraje Foundation whose mission is “To produce leaders that are morally and spiritually upright in faith, knowledge and inspiration through educational support, care and wellbeing”, will also join other existing Non-Governmental Organizations towards achieving more for the nation to the glory of God and benefit of mankind.
This mission is in line with global practise as well as national question for growth and development and I pray that God will continue to guide the Promoter of the foundation as he sets another pace today.
However, you will recall that some years ago, I also founded the Shehu Alimi Foundation for Peace and Development as part of efforts towards promoting unity and peace among the people of Ilorin Emirate and beyond as well as preservation of our cultural heritage.
I hereby congratulate Alhaji Abubakar Kawu Baraje CON for his vision, resilience and supports for the less privilege in the society. I also urge other well to do individuals to emulate this kind gesture and continue to extend necessary supports to this noble foundation towards achieving its objectives for humanity.
