……hails Emir, others on the honour
Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union (IEDPU) has commended the Executive Governor of Kwara State, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, CON, Chairman Nigerian Governors Forum for naming the newly completed Unity Flyover, Ilorin, after the Emir of Ilorin and Chairman, Kwara State Council of Chiefs, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, CFR.
The Union also felicitated with the Emir and other beneficiaries of the Governor’s kind gesture.
The National President of the Union, Alhaji Abdulmumini Ayo Abdulmalik, gave this commendation in a statement signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Mallam Nurudeen Ibrahim.
Alhaji Abdulmalik explained that Maimaritaba, the Emir of Ilorin deserves the honour, considering his enormous contributions to peace and prosperity of the State and the nation at large.
The Union thanked the Governor, who is also the Sarduana of Ilorin, for the recognition extended to the Emir and for also renaming the Second Phase of the State Secretariat after a former Governor of the State, Admiral Muhammad Alabi Lawal,mni and another facility after the late Tafida of Ilorin, Dr Yusuf Amuda Aluko,OFR as well as several other heroes.
Alhaji Abdulmalik expressed the conviction that the steps taken by His Excellency would encourage younger ones to emulate the industry and patriotism of the beneficiaries for the greater good of the State and humanity at large.
