JUST IN….Gov. Mai Mala Buni appoints late Tikau Emirate monarch’s son as new Emir

The Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, has approved the appointment of Alhaji Abubakar Muhammadu Ibn Grema as the new emir of Tikau Emirate Council.

This is contained in a statement signed on Tuesday by the Secretary to the State Government, Baba Malam Wali, which indicated that the appointment of the new emir was based on the unanimous recommendations of the kingmakers of the Tikau Emirate Council.

According to the statement, Alhaji Abubakar Muhammadu lbn Grema is the eldest son of the late Emir of Tikau.

The newly appointed emir has a bachelor’s degree in Agric Economics and Extension and a master’s in Agric Economics with a doctorate in Rural Development in view.

He has worked in various capacities at Yobe State University, and until his appointment, he was the Principal Manager of Yobe State University Farm.

The statement noted that the appointment takes immediate effect.
