A Professor in the Department of Home Economics & Food Science, Olayinka Ramota Karim has been elected as the new Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Ilorin.
ROYAL NEWS reports that Karim, was elected unopposed during the Faculty’s Board meeting held at the Faculty Lecture Theatre.
In her acceptance speech, Prof. Karim, who is the 14th Dean and first female Dean of the Faculty, appreciated her colleagues for finding her worthy of the position and promised to work assiduously as a team with an open door policy to move the Faculty to greater heights.
Olayinka Ramota Karim, ROYAL NEWS gathered is the 2nd Vice-Chairperson of Western Chapter of NIFST and first female Professor in the Faculty of Agriculture at University of Ilorin.
She bagged her Professorial title in 2014, and recently delivered her Inaugural Lecture titled: “Good Food Yesterday, Better Today and Best Tomorrow”.
She has served NIFST in different leadership and administrative capacities in Western Chapter. She was the LOC Chair,for the 5th Regional Food Science and Technology Summit (REFoSTS), 2019.
