Just in: Outrage in Kwara as Residents Reject Relief Items, Demand Rescue of 176 Abductees

Date:

Residents of a community in Kwara State have expressed outrage after rejecting relief materials reportedly provided by the administration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, insisting that their priority is the rescue of 176 abducted persons.

The items, said to include mats and buckets, were turned down by community members who described the gesture as insensitive in the face of the ongoing abduction crisis affecting their area.

According to local sources, the residents argued that providing relief materials without addressing the security situation and securing the release of kidnapped victims fails to tackle the root of their suffering.

Community leaders and youths reportedly demanded urgent and decisive action from the government, calling for intensified security operations to ensure the safe return of those abducted.

The incident underscores growing frustration among affected communities over insecurity, as citizens continue to call on authorities to prioritise safety and protection of lives over humanitarian relief gestures.
