The Kano State Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has sanctioned two judiciary staff members over separate cases of gross misconduct, following its 84th meeting held on Friday, July 18, 2025.
In a statement issued on Sunday by Baba Jibo Ibrahim, spokesperson for the Kano State Judiciary, the commission said disciplinary actions were taken after investigations confirmed violations of ethical standards.
Adamu Salisu, a registrar attached to the High Court, was found guilty of falsifying affidavits, forging a bailiff’s signature, and unlawfully signing documents as a Commissioner for Oaths.
The infractions were uncovered through an investigation conducted by the Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission. Upon admitting guilt before the JSC, Salisu was demoted from Grade Level 13 to 12, removed from his post as Registrar, and issued a formal warning.
In a separate case, Yusuf Ayuba, a Clerical Assistant at High Court No. 8 on Miller Road, was demoted from Grade Level 5 to 4 after an internal probe by the Judiciary Public Complaints Committee (JPCC) found that he had abandoned his duties for four months without valid justification.
“These measures are intended to serve as a deterrent and address growing concerns about absenteeism and ethical breaches,” Jibo stated.
He reaffirmed the Commission’s commitment to maintaining discipline and ethical standards within the judicial system, stressing its zero-tolerance stance on professional misconduct.
