Kebbi APC Cracks Down on Party Unrest, Suspends Senior Official

Date:

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kebbi State has suspended Kabiru Labbo Jega, a senior party member, over allegations of instigating violence and unrest in Jega town. The suspension was confirmed in a letter dated January 26, signed by the party’s Zonal Vice Chairman for Kebbi Central, Abubakar Bello Matawalle Bunza.

Jega, who serves as Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Community and Rural Development, was accused of actions that could disrupt peace and unity within the party in his constituency. The APC alleged that he instigated conflicts among party members, creating tension and confusion in Jega.

The suspension follows a recent disciplinary action against Dahiru Nayaya Ambursa, Chairman of Birnin Kebbi Local Government and ALGON chairman, who was suspended barely a month earlier. The party said it acted after reviewing the allegations and assessing the threat to internal cohesion and discipline.

The APC executive committee concluded that Jega’s conduct was detrimental to party unity. As a result, he has been barred from all party membership and activities with immediate effect.

The party warned that any violation of the suspension could lead to harsher disciplinary measures, including possible expulsion, emphasizing its commitment to maintaining peace and discipline among members.
