
The Kebbi State Police Command has arrested a suspected cattle rustler, Basiru Abdullahi, and recovered two cows along with a Toyota vehicle used in the crime in Suru Local Government Area.
According to State Police Public Relations Officer Nafiu Abubakar, the arrest followed actionable intelligence that led a police patrol to intercept Abdullahi on August 27, 2025, at about 11:00 p.m. in Suru District.
During interrogation, Abdullahi admitted conspiring with four others, including Garba Chairman Datti and Jaβe Ango, to steal three cows belonging to Sarkin Fulani Usman of Suru. Two of the stolen cattle were sold for N500,000, while one suspect, Naziru Danmanu, remains at large.
A green Toyota vehicle with registration number Naija-Minna 708XB, used in the operation, was also recovered. The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Birnin Kebbi for further investigation.
