The Ogun State chapter of the APC has nominated Mrs Kudirat Abiodun Balogun as its deputy governorship candidate for the 2027 election. She will run alongside the party’s governorship candidate, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, following the zoning of the deputy governorship position to Ogun East Senatorial District.
The nomination was announced after consultations among party leaders and stakeholders. Governor Dapo Abiodun had earlier disclosed at an APC stakeholders’ meeting in Abeokuta that Ogun East would produce the party’s deputy governorship candidate, with Balogun emerging as Adeola’s preferred choice from among several aspirants.
Presenting her for endorsement, Senator Adeola described Balogun as a worthy and capable partner who would strengthen the APC ticket and contribute meaningfully to the party’s development agenda for Ogun State. State APC Chairman Yemi Sanusi said her selection was in line with the party’s zoning arrangement and followed extensive consultations.
Party leaders highlighted Balogun’s strong academic and professional credentials, noting that she is a seasoned corporate executive with more than three decades of experience in finance, governance, manufacturing, and business development. She currently serves as Chief Financial Officer and Executive Director of Finance and Information Technology at Rite Foods Limited.
Balogun holds a degree in Computer Science from the University of Lagos and an MBA in Finance from Bayes Business School, London. She is a fellow of both ICAN and ACCA and has attended executive programmes at Harvard and Wharton. The APC said her leadership values, corporate achievements, and commitment to economic empowerment, youth development, and industrial growth make her well-suited for the role.
