In a significant political development, the Council of Kwara North Traditional Rulers will resolve governorship seat of Kwara State to be zoned to the Kwara North Senatorial District in the 2027 elections.
The resolution will hold tomorrow at a high-stakes stakeholders’ meeting, “Kwara North: Unity, Security, and the Way Forward for the 2027 Project,” at the palace of the Estu of Patigi, Alhaji Umar Bologi II.
The collective decision will underscore a unified front from the region’s leadership to advocate for a power shift, emphasizing equity and representation within the state’s political landscape.
In a show of solidarity, the meeting will be attended by a full contingent of the region’s monarchs, including, the Emir of Gwanara, Alh. Idris Sabi Kotokotogi, the Emir of Yashikra, Alh. Usman Seriki Usman, the Emir of Ilesha-Baruba, Prof. Halidu Abubakar, the Emir of Okuta, Alh. Abubakar Idris Sherobetete, the Estu of Patigi, Alh. Umar Bologi II, the Emir of Lafiagi, Alh. Muh’d Kudu Kawu, the Emir of Kaiama, Alh. Muazu Shehu Omar, the Emir of Shonga, Alh. Haliru Yahaya Ndanusa and the Emir of Tsaragi, Alh. Aliyu Abdullahi Kpotwa.
