Kwara pilgrim, Busari Alao dies in Makkah

The Executive Secretary of the Kwara State Muslims Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji AbdulKadir AbdulSalam,  has disclosed that a pilgrim from the state at the just concluded 2023 Hajj exercise, Busari Alao, is dead.

The deceased, was among the 3,546 pilgrims from Kwara State, reportedly died in the Holy city of Makkah, ROYAL NEWS reports.

Abdulsalam added that the contingent did not record any case of arrest or questioning from relevant authorities throughout the exercise.

“Already, 1,600 pilgrims from Kwara that performed the hajj through the Pilgrims Welfare Board have so far been airlifted back home. Six flights had already been used for the latest arrival via Air Peace with 271 pilgrims on board arriving yesterday.

“They are among the 3,546 that were airlifted from the state through the board for this year’s pilgrimage to the holy land”, he added.

He however appealed to the remaining pilgrims to be patient, as the state would resume another airlift on July 19, while the airlifting would be completed before month end.
