Lookman, Ekong Nominated for CAF African Player of the Year

Date:

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has nominated Super Eagles stars William Troost-Ekong and Ademola Lookman for the prestigious African Player of the Year award.

Lookman, the only African shortlisted for the 2024 Ballon d’Or, joins the list alongside Ekong, who earned Player of the Tournament honors as Nigeria finished second in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations held in Ivory Coast.

Lookman also led Atalanta to a historic Europa League victory, scoring a hat-trick in their 3-0 win over Bayer Leverkusen—the club’s first trophy since 1963.
