Minister commemorate with ICAO, Ministers, Stakeholders at 7th AFI Aviation week

As the ministry of Aviation Mark the 7th Africa and Indian Ocean (AFI) week, Honourable Minister, Federal Ministry of Aviation, Senator Hadi Sirika, has commemorated with the ministry over their great job in the aviation industry in Nigeria.
The events which started today and will end on the 20th May, 2022, was organized by the International Civil Aviation Organization ICAO, in Abuja.
Speaking at the event, the Minister expressed gratitude for being among the eminent gathering of policy makers, aviation regulators & professionals, as well as industry stakeholders.
He said that Nigeria’s determination to host the meeting was borne out of the desire to support the growth of air transport in the region and ICAO’s efforts in facilitating the recovery process of the industry from the unprecedented impact of the deadly COVID-19 Pandemic.
“This event is very important not just to review the impact of these programmes vis-a-vis the impact of the COVID-19 Pandemic, but also to devise new ways of implementing and achieving their objectives, by taking cognizance of digitalization and innovation, which are now being highly embraced by the industry.
“This is the only way we can continue to make these initiatives relevant and sustainable, while contributing to the strengthening of safety, security and facilitation in our region, bearing in mind that a safe, secure and efficient air transport system is a natural impetus for socio-economic development of the region and a means to support trade and tourism as well as integration.
“In addition, they will also complement the Single African Air Transport Market (SAATM) and other initiatives of Agenda 2063 of the African Union.” Sirika said.
He therefore expressed gratitude and warm greetings from the President, Muhammadu Buhari GCFR, and the good people, of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, to all for attending the meeting.
He further added that he is delighted with the number of high-level personalities that were participating at the important event particularly the Secretary General, Mr Juan Carlos Salazar.
“This high level representation demonstrates the importance and significance attached to this event.”He said.
