Motorcyclist, lady die in Kogi crash

A commercial motorcyclist and a lady have died in a crash along Ogori–Magongo road in Kogi State.

Newsmen gathered that the rider, identified as Mr. John Aisoni, died on the spot at the accident scene on Thursday afternoon, while the lady, who sustained various degree of injuries, was said to have given up the ghost at the Ogori General Hospital where she was taken to.

Commander Oyedeji Sunday, who is the Kogi State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, confirmed the incident to our correspondent on Friday afternoon, adding that it was caused by wrong overtaking and speeding.

Sunday in his statement said, “The accident was between a commercial motorcyclist and a Toyota Venza car. There was wrong overtaking which led to the crash.”

“Two victims were confirmed dead and have been deposited in a morgue while the other person is receiving treatment at Ogori General Hospital, Kogi State.”
